Thank you for purchasing an original Esque design. Each piece is one of a kind and hand blown to order by Justin and Andi, using the finest glass and recycled materials. Because of this, we do not accept cancellations or returns on any items. We carefully inspect each piece for flaws or cracks before shipping. In the rare case that the work arrives broken or damaged, keep all original packaging and call UPS to make a claim. They will come to inspect the packaging and will refund the full cost of the item. The name Esque refers to the suffix meaning "in the manor of", and is a nod to the acknowledgement of outside influences and inspirations.
terms / conditions
terms
Prices are retail, F.O.B. Portland, Oregon, USA. Our payment terms are 50/50: A 50% deposit is required to initiate production of an order with final 50% balance due prior to order shipment. Order lead time is estimated at 4-6 weeks from receipt of 50% deposit. Please note that all pieces are made to order, meaning each piece is unique and we do not carry stock items.
shipping
The Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs associated with their order. Shipping charges will be built into the order invoice at 12% of total invoice.
discounts
We offer a wholesale discount of 50% from retail price to retail outlet stores. A 20% designer discount is offered to designers working directly with Esque on custom (non-catalog) pieces or projects. We offer a 40% showroom discount to store owners who do not carry specific pieces for retail sale, however display our pieces to designers and to the public for design services.
order cancellations / changes
Payment of the first 50% deposit on an invoice is acknowledgement from the buyer that the invoice is correct and approved and is non-refundable. Cancellations or changes to an order will result in a “change order” and may incur additional charges for procured materials, labor and administrative costs. These charges will be assessed at Esque’s discretion. Changes to orders will most likely effect the job completion date. Any orders that require custom colors or materials may not be cancelled.
payments
All forms of payment are accepted (visa, MC, Amex, check) however if using Amex, there will be a 3% service fee added to the invoice.
late payments
Any outstanding balances due past 30 days on an account will be charged an interest rate of 10% monthly until the balance is paid in full.
returns / refunds / replacements
Esque does not accept returns or offer refunds on their products. Due to the hand-blown process, all sizes are approximate. Studio glass is very different from manufactured glass and is therefore subject to the laws of nature. This is usually evident in the form of tiny bubbles in the glass. This is considered a natural part of studio glass and we will, therefore, not accept returns for this reason as this is not actually a flaw in the glass.
If the buyer decides to return a piece for any reason, it will be at the buyer’s expense. The return shipper is responsible for packing any returned items properly and with care. If an item is returned to Esque and is received damaged due to improper packaging, the cost of the item will be billed to the buyer.
damages / claims
Esque carefully inspects and packs its pieces in good condition. Esque’s carriers only accept packages in good condition and agree to deliver in good condition. If the buyer receives a package or item that was damaged or broken during transit it is the buyers responsibility to file a claim against the carrier to recoup their shipping costs. The buyer will need to keep all packaging materials associated with a damaged shipment for inspection by the carrier. Your claim will not be honored without it.
custom projects / commissions
For custom orders and commissions, esque requires a non-refundable retainer of 10% of the project total before project initiation. This retainer is used to cover upfront cost of materials, research and/or labor and will be posted against the first invoice. Please contact esque for information on production rates and custom quotes.
customizing your order
For ‘color changes’ or ‘changes in scale’ of pieces from or regular product line, a fee of $50 will be charged for products that cost $300 or less; a fee of $100 will be charged for products that cost $301 or more.
cleaning & maintenance
Glass is by nature an unstable material and may vitrify over the years. If the glass is in contact with other materials (glue, metals, silvering) these materials may show aging with time as well. Upon client request, we can maintain the pieces for you at a rate of $125/hr with a free consultation to assess maintenance details. also see the 'care' page.
